Steven Mahoney, Principal

Born and raised on the Gold Coast, Steven Mahoney is the Principal Solicitor and founder of Steven Mahoney Lawyers & Notary. A proud alumnus of The Southport School (TSS), Steven began his tertiary studies at Bond University in 2010 and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting). He completed his Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice in early 2014 and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in March 2014, and shortly thereafter to the High Court of Australia.

Steven commenced his legal career with OMB Solicitors before establishing his own Incorporated Legal Practice in 2020. In recognition of his expertise and standing in the legal profession, Steven was appointed as a Notary Public for Queensland on 25 July 2025.

Steven has extensive experience across a wide range of legal areas including Estate Planning and Administration, Contested Estates, Property Law, Body Corporate Law, Taxation, Superannuation, Business Law, Commercial Law, Civil Litigation, and Mortgage & Guarantee Advice. He also brings additional capability in Insolvency, Debt Recovery, and Intellectual Property matters, and has appeared in the Magistrates, District, and Supreme Courts of Queensland in both civil and criminal proceedings.

Known for his practical approach and strategic thinking, Steven is trusted by individuals, families, and businesses alike for clear, results-driven legal advice. His appointment as a Notary Public further enables him to serve clients with international documentation needs, authentications, and apostilles.

Outside of the office, Steven remains a committed member of the Gold Coast community. He is actively involved in local sporting clubs and maintains strong ties to his alma mater and university sporting affiliations.
